KAOS — 110m — Oceanco — 2017 — Est. $300M KAOS began life as Jubilee, commissioned by the Emir of Qatar with one very specific requirement: a garage large enough to store a Bentley on board. At launch in 2017, she was the largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands by both length and volume — a record that stood until Feadship’s Anna surpassed her by centimeters. Her visual identity is unlike any other yacht in the world. Designer Igor Lobanov created an exterior based entirely on optical illusion — long horizontal lines, tinted glass panels, and “faux decks” that create the impression of more volume and additional walkways than actually exist. The trompe l’oeil effect makes KAOS appear sleeker and longer than her actual 110 meters. The interior was built to the Passenger Yacht Code — the more demanding safety standard that allows for up to 31 guests rather than the standard 12. Every marble floor panel sits on honeycombed aluminum panels mounted on rubber foundations for fire compliance and noise dampening — more marble was used on KAOS than on any other Oceanco build at the time of her launch. The 8.5-meter swimming pool features a transparent aquarium wall visible from the beach club directly below it — guests in the spa can look up through the pool floor and watch the water above them. In July 2023, climate activists from the group Futuro Vegetal sprayed the yacht with fire extinguishers filled with paint while she was moored in Ibiza, and were promptly arrested by the Spanish Civil Guard. Current owner is Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie, who acquired her in 2019 for an estimated $300 million. A yacht built for a Qatari emir. Spray-painted by activists.
