Having watched every single minute of Argentinas national team since Maradona took over, here is a very small post match rant about how dreadful Maradona is as a coach. I could probably elaborate further but its 2am and I wanted to get this up now. Where is Daniel Diaz? He has been decent whenever Ive seen him. Where is Walter Samuel? Then, he goes and puts on a 36 year old uncapped defender! Hell, Im surprised he didnt throw Coloccini on just for a laugh!He insists on playing 34 year old Veron in the midfield. He is a mile past his best. Slow and uninspiring. Wheres Riquelme. Oh I forgot, he doesnt need him apparantly. Wheres Cambia so, a solid leader in midfield. I could go on!Then youve got the striking options. Only Maradona could make a ton of fearsome strikers look as threatening as Emile Heskey! Tevez gets suspended so you think hmmmmm it may be ble sing in disguise. He might actually go with the target man up front with one of the smaller and quicker strikers. Instead he sticks Aguero up Byron Pringle Jersey front by himself. Oh and then he sticks on 35 year old Martin Palermo ahead of Lopez, Higuain, Milito, Zarate, Crespo, Saviola et al!As an Englishman, please please please dont sack Maradona, his choices are truly hilarious and if they somehow scrape qualification then they wont get past the group stage with him in charge. I actually think I could do a better job along with anyone that has an above par knowledge of the beautiful game. The only thing Maradona has in his favour is the respect people have for him as a footballer. As a coach I dont think he actually knows what hes doing.
